Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections Policy

Surya Informatika Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of the scholarly record after publication. We encourage open, constructive, and rigorous post-publication academic debate, as well as prompt correction of the scientific literature when necessary.

1. Post-Publication Discussions and Letters to the Editor

We welcome scientific feedback, comments, and critical discussions regarding articles published in Surya Informatika Journal.

  • Submitting Comments: Readers and researchers can submit formal comments, critiques, or discussions as a Letter to the Editor through the Online Journal System (OJS) or by contacting the Editorial Office via email.

  • Evaluation Process:

    1. The Editor-in-Chief and Section Editors review the submitted commentary for relevance, academic merit, and adherence to professional standards.

    2. If accepted, the corresponding author of the original article will be invited to provide a formal rebuttal or response (Author Reply).

    3. Both the critique and the authors' response may be published together in a subsequent issue to foster transparent academic discussion.

2. Corrections, Addenda, and Errata

When genuine errors or inaccuracies are identified in published articles, Surya Informatika Journal will issue correction notices in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Erratum / Corrigendum: Issued when a significant error (e.g., misinterpretation of data, error in equations, omitted author, or figure formatting error) affects the clarity or precision of the paper without invalidating its overall scientific findings.

  • Addendum: Published when additional data or context is required to clarify or complete the original work.

  • Implementation:

    • A formal correction notice will be published as a separate document in the current issue and linked directly to the original published paper.

    • The original article page and PDF will be updated with a prominent notice indicating the correction.

3. Article Retractions and Expressions of Concern

  • Expressions of Concern: The Editor-in-Chief may issue an Expression of Concern if an investigation into potential research misconduct or significant errors is ongoing, inconclusive, or if impartial evidence cannot be immediately established.

  • Retractions: An article will be retracted if there is clear evidence of:

    • Major ethical breaches (e.g., severe plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification).

    • Redundant or duplicate publication without proper acknowledgement.

    • Unreliable, irreproducible, or fundamentally flawed conclusions that compromise the research integrity.

  • Retraction Process:

    • Retraction notices are publicly available and explicitly state the reasons for retraction.

    • The original article PDF will be watermarked with "RETRACTED" on every page, but the file remains accessible to preserve the public record.

4. Inclusive Name Changes Policy

  • Surya Informatika Journal recognizes that authors may change their names for various reasons (e.g., gender transition, marriage, divorce, or religious reasons).

  • Authors may request a discreet update to their published articles.

  • We will update the online metadata, PDF, and HTML versions of the paper without requiring a formal public correction notice, preserving author privacy and dignity.
