Authorship Criteria & Guide for Authors — Surya Teknika Journal
Ethical Submission Notice
We invite authors to submit manuscripts to Surya Teknika Journal through official announcements on the journal's website, communication through academic associations, and personal communication with researchers whose expertise aligns with the objectives and scope of the journal.
-
We do not offer "fast-track" publication, guaranteed acceptance, or expedited peer review.
-
We do not aggressively or recklessly solicit article submissions via spam emails.
-
All manuscripts undergo a rigorous, standard peer-review process to ensure academic quality and integrity.
Types of Papers
Surya Teknika Journal accepts two main types of articles: Original Research Papers and Review Papers.
-
Original Research Paper: An article reporting detailed, empirical, and primary research. Its standard structure includes an introduction/background, methods, results and discussion, and conclusion.
-
Review Paper: An article providing an up-to-date, comprehensive synthesis of important topics in engineering, technology, and applied sciences. It evaluates previous developments, synthesizes existing literature, and identifies future research directions.
General Structure of an Original Research Paper
-
Paper Identity: The title should be concise, informative, and reflective of the research content. List full names of all authors (without academic titles) and their institutional affiliations. Provide complete contact information for the corresponding author, including a valid institutional email address. (Providing ORCID iDs for all authors is highly recommended).
-
Abstract: Written as a single paragraph (typically 150 to 250 words). It should state the purpose and background, describe the methodology, summarize key findings, and highlight the significance of the research. Include 3 to 6 strong, relevant keywords.
-
Introduction: Provides broad context, narrowing down to the specific research problem. It must clearly identify the research gap, present the state of the art, state the research objectives, and outline the core questions being addressed.
-
Method: A direct, detailed description of the research design, procedures, materials, datasets, algorithms, hardware/software, and analytical tools used. The details must be sufficient for the study to be reproducible.
-
Results and Discussion: Presents the analysis serving as the direct answer to the research questions. Discuss findings in the context of relevant theories and compare them with previous work. Tables, figures, and diagrams must be clearly labeled and numbered sequentially.
-
Conclusion: Concise summary of main findings, practical implications, limitations, and specific directions for future work.
-
Author Contributions: Detailed statement using the CRediT system (see below).
-
Generative AI Statement: Declaration of any AI tool usage (see below).
-
Acknowledgment: Statement of funding sources and expressions of gratitude to contributing individuals or institutions who do not qualify as authors.
-
References: Must follow IEEE Style (numerical citations in square brackets, e.g.,
[1],[2]). Authors are required to use a reference manager (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote).
General Structure of a Review Paper
-
Paper Identity: Same format as original research papers.
-
Abstract: Outlines the review context/purpose, methodology (e.g., Systematic Literature Review, bibliometric analysis), data sources, synthesized outcomes, and conclusion. Include 3 to 6 keywords.
-
Introduction: Concise background, research gaps or conflicting findings in current literature, and author's rationale/justification for conducting the review.
-
Method: Review protocol detailing search strategies, databases used (e.g., Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Web of Science), inclusion/exclusion criteria, total studies reviewed, and data synthesis methods.
-
Results and Discussion (Main Section): Arranged chronologically, methodologically, or thematically into structured subsections. Synthesizes multiple studies critically rather than providing a simple list of summaries. Body text generally constitutes 70–90% of the manuscript.
-
Conclusion: Broader implications of synthesized findings, critical interpretations, unresolved questions, and specific research agendas.
-
Author Contributions: Statement using the CRediT system.
-
Generative AI Statement: Statement on AI assistance if applicable.
-
Acknowledgment: Gratitude to librarians, institutions, or individuals assisting in data retrieval or manuscript preparation.
-
References: Comprehensive list (typically 20 to 30+ high-quality, recent sources) in IEEE Style, managed via Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
Authorship Criteria (Author Contributions)
Surya Teknika Journal requires all authors to explicitly state their individual contributions using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) system. This section must be placed after the Conclusion and before Acknowledgments. All listed authors must have made a significant contribution and approved the final version.
Standard CRediT Roles include:Conceptualization, Methodology, Software, Validation, Formal analysis, Investigation, Resources, Data curation, Writing – original draft, Writing – review & editing, Visualization, Supervision, Project administration, and Funding acquisition.
Example Format:
Author Contributions: A. B. Person: Conceptualization, Methodology, Writing – original draft. C. D. Author: Software, Data curation, Formal analysis. E. F. Editor: Writing – review & editing, Supervision. All authors have read and agreed to the published version of the manuscript.
Generative AI Statement
If authors have used generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the creation of the manuscript, they must include a Generative AI Statement prior to Acknowledgments and References.
Example Format:
Generative AI Statement: During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of Tool/Service] in order to [Reason/Purpose, e.g., language editing and improving readability]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication.
IEEE Reference Style Format Examples
Citations in the text must appear as numbers in square brackets, e.g., "...as shown by Smith [1]" or "...according to recent studies [2], [3]".
